Shannon Szczerbiak is a former professional basketball player who played in the NBA for ten seasons. He was born on March 26, 1977, in New York, USA. Szczerbiak played college basketball at Miami University, where he was named the Mid-American Conference's Player of the Year in 1999.
He was selected as the 6th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Szczerbiak played for the Timberwolves for most of his career before being traded to the Boston Celtics in 2006. He also had stints with the Seattle SuperSonics and the Cleveland Cavaliers before retiring in 2009.
Throughout his career, Szczerbiak was known for his scoring ability and his sharpshooting from beyond the arc. He was selected to the NBA All-Star Game in 2002 and finished his career with averages of 14.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. After retiring from basketball, Szczerbiak has worked as a basketball analyst for various networks, including Fox Sports and CBS Sports.
